- In this introductory workshop you will learn how to make hand printed greetings cards and wrapping paper using the linocut method of printmaking.
- The workshop will focus on developing a design that can be printed or mounted onto cards or printed onto wrapping paper.
- Shelagh will show you how to prepare your design, transfer it onto a lino block, safe techniques for using tools, how to ink up your carved block and hand print onto card and paper.
Shelagh Dwyer is a printmaker living in Ramelton. She admires the clean, strong lines and textures that can be achieved with lino printing. Part of her work is drawn from impressions of wildlife native to Ireland and Britain and also the beautiful, moody landscapes and seascapes of Co. Donegal. www.linocutstudio.com
About The Workshop:
Our workshops are fun and relaxed learning experiences and takes place around a communal table in a creative workshop space. Light refreshments will be served.
This workshop is limited to 6 spaces. At least 5 people are needed for the workshop to run. No refunds due to limited spaces.
You may use any of the designs supplied or bring along a simple image that will fit comfortably onto a size C6 card (size 114mm X 162mm) to work with and Shelagh will help you do the rest.
All materials provided including inks, paper, cards and lino cutters.
Suitable for everyone – beginners welcome.
