My Design Processes
Riso Prints
Soy Ink - Riso printing uses soy ink made from soybean oil, which is more environmentally friendly than traditional petroleum-based inks. It’s renewable, bio-degradable and easy to remove from paper during the recycling process.
Paper - I use paper made from 100% post consumer waste and is FSC certified.
Packaging - My packaging sleeves are made from vegetable starch that are fully bio-degradable and compostable.
Screen Prints
I am a member of Derry Print Workshop and I use the fantastic printing facilities here to produce my screen prints. I use water based gouache paint on high-quality uncoated fine paper that is environmentally friendly and FSC credited.
Lino Prints
Lino printing is the process of cutting into a block of lino using specialised carving tools to draw your image. Once the image is drawn and carved out, ink is rolled onto the block. I use a modern relief printing press to print the lino onto the paper to form an impression. Each print is then hand stamp with individual lettering. It's a laborious process but I love it!
